The questions how long does grass paint last and how long does Endurant turf colorant last are used interchangeably. However, the answers are a bit different.

Is the Grass Actively Growing?

A Preliminary Question to Knowing, How Long With Endurant Last?

If so, an Endurant pigment, such as Endurant TE, would be best to use on actively growing grass. The main factor in how long the colorant lasts, outside of Endurant brand choice, is whether the grass is growing, how fast it’s growing and whether it’s being mowed. If grass is growing, Endurant turfgrass pigments, such as Endurant Turf Enhancer (TE) and Endurant Flex (FX) are recommended. This will make it more affordable to apply the pigment more regularly knowing it will be mowed.

Is the Grass Dormant and Brown?

Endurant paints on dormant turfgrass can last months. When painting dormant turfgrass that is brown for the season, often due to low temperatures, Endurant paints are preferred. These include Endurant Perennial Rye, Endurant Premium and Endurant Fairway will often last for two to three months on dormant turf grass because it’s not growing and it’s not being mowed. In this case, one or two colorant applications per winter would be enough to maintain green grass throughout the winter dormancy.

The Best Shade of Green for the Grass Type and Personal Preference

Many Factors Can Affect the Most Accurate Answer to the Question: How Long Will Endurant Turf Colorant Last?

The appearance or perception of how long the colorant lasts may be affected to some extent by the choice in colorant used. If a lighter shade, such as Endurant PR is used, but the grass is usually a darker tone, like Endurant Fairway, it may appear the colorant isn’t lasting long enough. But as long as you select the colorant you prefer for the grass type you have, the colorant shall last as suggested on the label— up to three months. Proper Application of Endurant for Lasting Color

Proper application of Endurant turf colorants will also lead to the best, most lasting results. It is important to follow the instructions on the label. Make sure you do not cut the concentrations of the paint when applying it. This is critical not to go below the 15:1 mix rate. Doing so will decrease the amount of binder. Thus, the colorant may not adhere properly to the grass blade.

Also, ensure you follow recommendations such as not painting before a heavy rain. Allow the colorant to dry before watering or walking on the grass.

In high friction situations, such as high impact sports, including football, or in high pet traffic areas, consider adding extra binder, Endurant Spray n Stay.
